This was the fifth time Daniel had been arrested in 2024 alone, with the most recent occurring [[April 2nd Arrest|just four weeks earlier]]. Unlike previous arrests, Daniel is ineligible for bond, and given the severity of the charges, there is a possibility he will never be granted bond.       

Following this, Daniel's contact with the outside world was through sporadic phone correspondence, which was suspended for nearly four months until September. During this time, Daniel befriended [[Lil Sippy]] over the phone after he sent him a letter. He was in contact with [[Lil Sippy]] and [[Clark]] while in FCI Englewood through phone calls, emails, and letters. During his two brief stays at two correctional facilities in Oklahoma, he was in touch with [[Clark]] via phone calls. On December 6, 2024, Daniel informed [[Lil Sippy]] that he was scheduled to be transferred to the United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners (MCFP Springfield) in the following week. He was released from Englewood four days later and was transferred to [[wikipedia:Cimarron_Correctional_Facility|Cimarron Correctional Facility]] in Oklahoma, where he stayed for two weeks. On Christmas Eve, he was transferred to Grady County Detention Center for unknown reasons, and three days later was transferred to MCFP Springfield for further mental health evaluation. Daniel underwent several competency restoration and mental health evaluation processes since his incarceration at MCFP Springfield, and stayed there throughout 2025. The most recent one concluded in November 2025.   

On January 13, 2026, Daniel was transferred out of MCFP Springfield and placed in the Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Speedy trial calculations ended on February 9, 2026, and on March 3, 2026, Daniel was deemed '''competent''' to stand trial. It remains uncertain whether Daniel will continue to be institutionalized or be released. On March 20, 2026, Daniel reached a plea agreement with the government, and a change of plea hearing was held on April 9, 2026. Daniel pled guilty to the threat he made toward [[Daniel MacDougall]]. <ref>https://larsonleak.net/leakweek/sentencing</ref> The remaining six charges were dropped. He is expected to serve 27-33 months in prison, with credit for the 23 months he had already served. Sentencing will occur on July 21, 2026.   

This is one of the most significant events in Daniel's life, considering that he was at risk of being imprisoned for up to 65 years if found guilty on all charges, or be institutionalized for the rest of his life. Many see this as the final blow, with his [[Plot Armor|plot armor]] truly breaking. It has also become the most publicized aspect of Daniel's life thus far, as multiple social media accounts and news articles have covered the situation as it unfolded.<ref>[[Daniel in the media]]</ref> The Second Jail Arc is the longest duration of Daniel being incarcerated.  

Daniel is currently facing serious legal charges. Initially, he was facing six counts of "Use or Threatened Use of Explosive" and one count of "Interstate Communication of Threats." Each "Use or Threatened Use of Explosive," charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison. On March 3, 2026, a month after the hearing, Judge Regina M. Rodriguez ruled that Daniel was '''mentally''' '''competent to stand trial''' following 20 months (1 year and 8 months) of institutionalization and competency restoration efforts. Daniel had a change of plea hearing on April 9, 2026. Daniel plead guilty to the charge involving MacDougall, and he will be sentenced on July 21, 2026. <ref>https://x.com/flexburgerr/status/2042370418200232070</ref> The remaining six charges against him were dismissed as part of the agreement. <ref>https://larsonleak.net/leakweek/sentencing</ref> Daniel also consented to the disposal of his phone, which had been held as evidence. Chad Oxman is Daniel’s new legal guardian.  

During the proceedings, Judge Regina M. Rodriguez reviewed the legal process in detail to ensure Daniel understood, to which he repeatedly responded with "yes, your honor'. Judge Rodriguez asked standard biographical questions, including his name, age, and educational background. Daniel stated that he had completed "high school and some college," with his field of study as “music.” When asked where he attended school, he responded, "Uh… UC… LA Film School", possibly referencing the fake [[UCLA Arc|UCLA classes.]]

Daniel was reported as being more on edge during this hearing. Approximately ten fans/trolls were present in the gallery, including a few CU fraternity members dressed in suits. Observers claimed that Daniel did the angry tongue as he took his seat. It was also reported that Chad Oxman was confused about the number of people in the gallery. Daniel joked about his fame and referenced his music on iHeartRadio. His attorney, Jeffrey Feiler, appeared to be annoyed. The two attempted to help Daniel remain calm and comfortable, and he appeared to lighten the mood, making a remark about “Diet Coke served for lunch,” and added that he asked a guard whether it contained cocaine, which was followed by a laugh. Daniel was described as having a slightly grown-out buzz cut and long fingernails, and was noted to have gained a considerable amount of weight.
