On April 30, 2024, Daniel Larson was arrested and taken into federal custody. Afterwards, Daniel was charged with seven counts of making threats, and after being deemed incompetent for trial, Daniel was institutionalized at MCFP Springfield for multiple treatment cycles. On March 20, 2026, Daniel took a plea deal with the government and 6 charges were dropped as a result, and on April 9, had a change of plea hearing with judge Regina M. Rodriguez. In this hearing, it was determined for his sentencing to occur on July 21, 2026.
The Sentence
On July 21, 2026, Daniel was officially sentenced by judge Regina M. Rodriguez. The decision was made to release him from prison[1] with release plans organized by his trust team. These plans detailed private housing with a caregiver, and probation monitoring his devices for harassment by would-be trolls or weens.[2]
