Explain the ready-made article, profile and overview content layouts

New page

Choose a content layout when creating a page, or open an existing article’s '''Page options''' tab. These choices arrange the page’s contents, with no narrower reading column.

== Available layouts ==
* '''Standard article''': ordinary wiki prose and section headings.
* '''Profile with infobox''': an introduction on the left, a photo and quick facts on the right, and section or topic links below the introduction. The main article sections follow underneath.
* '''Overview with topic panels''': an introduction, a wide details panel with the photo, facts and public links, then a row of topic cards. Useful for a community, project, collection of articles or subject overview.

The regular article/sub-wiki home setting is separate. You can use a content layout while keeping the same page type, timeline setting and child pages.

== Fill the layout ==
# Select Profile or Overview and continue to the editor (or save Page options for an existing page).
# Choose '''Edit'''. Select the '''Page layout''' block and use its '''Edit''' button.
# Fill '''Introduction''', '''Photo filename''', '''Photo caption''', '''Name''', '''Also known as''', '''Platforms''', '''Public accounts and links''', and '''Section and topic links''' as needed.
# Apply the block changes, then write and edit the normal article sections below it.
# Review the page before saving.

Use an uploaded filename such as
Example.jpg
in the photo field. Do not type
File:
or image brackets there. Unfilled facts and links are omitted. A filename that has not been uploaded gets a file-page link instead of a broken image.

For topic cards, enter one bullet per wiki link. A section link uses
<nowiki>* [[#Background|Background]]</nowiki>
. A related article uses
<nowiki>* [[Subject/Topic|Topic]]</nowiki>
. Public links can use
<nowiki>* [https://example.com/ Account name]</nowiki>
.

== Existing articles ==
Selecting a content layout adds the reusable block above the existing article. The article’s text, references and headings are kept. Move the introduction into the block’s Introduction field if you want it beside the facts panel. Copy any existing photo filename and caption into their fields, then remove its old standalone image markup to avoid displaying it twice.

Switching between Profile and Overview rearranges the same filled block. Switching back to Standard article preserves its contents as normal page sections. To remove a block entirely, first keep any information you want in the article text, then remove the block in the editor. All changes remain recoverable through page history.

These are starting structures. Add, rename or remove ordinary sections to suit the subject. Timelines stay optional and continue to use the timeline editor. Do not add unsourced biographical details to fill an empty field.
