He has been assigned to work on cases involving Daniel, their connection is frequently cited in relation to the multiple incidents and statements made by Daniel Larson, emphasizing MacDougall's role in addressing the situations. The information about MacDougall is scant, and mostly unknown besides Daniel talking to him, and as evidence commonly by mouth or few screenshots of texts between them. It's unclear when MacDougall comes into the picture, but he has been mentioned around mid August of 2023 on the r/daniellarson subreddit. The reason MacDougall was involved was because Daniel has made threats towards the White House, which included bomb threats.

During Daniel's [[Dog Arc]], Daniel says ".. I am done, and I will not stop until the White House is blown up." <ref>https://archive.org/details/Vdn5zzvU4s8</ref>. The incident is known as the [[Dog_Arc#Daniel's_reaction_and_subsequent_incidents|7/11 Incident or the July 11th Incident]], where he was reported to enter a Walmart and began to destroy things, where the police were called. Daniel then made multiple 9-1-1 calls, in attempt to "get some security out here"  where one of the calls included him making threats towards the White House, and claiming to have a bomb <ref>https://archive.org/details/uA_ZTPhKW0</ref>, "... Okay so I just called 9-1-1 and I just literally just screamed I have a bomb on the 9-1-1 number and randomly hung up in hopes to get this situation heard...". On August 30, 2023, Daniel went live in a video titled "Daniel Larson on his way to meet up with the investigator", at the very end of the live stream Daniel is approaching two people who greet him and then ask if he would stop live streaming, which Daniel promptly does. On December 25, 2023, Reddit user nancyshimer posted to reddit claiming to have emailed MacDougall from the pseudonym [[Todd Baysinger]] a video from the [[Christmas Day Meltdown]] where he threatens MacDougles life. <ref>https://www.reddit.com/r/Daniellarson/comments/18qykj2/us_vs_daniel_robert_larson/</ref> The user later posted that he responded with "Thanks, I’m aware. On April 30th, 2024, Daniel Larson was issued an arrest warrant. Daniel MacDougall arrested Daniel Larson. He was the agent for the case, and Larson was charged with 6 counts of "Use or Threatened Use of Explosive". Each count having a maximum serving of 10 years' imprisonment and or fined $250,000. Larson was charged with "Interstate Communication of Threats" which is where one would threaten to injure or kill somebody. Daniel has an extensive history of making threats including bomb threats and death threats towards civilians and government officials. <ref>[[Jail Arc 2]]</ref>

Daniel MacDougall is employed for the United States Secret Service, he was assigned to the Denver Field Office in July of 2020, and his focus became focusing on fraud related issues to small businesses, with a focus on Economic Injury Disaster Loans <ref>https://www.acams.org/en/chapters/united-states-west/acams-colorado-chapter-august-2022-event-meet-engage-or-re-engage-with-local-law-enforcement</ref>. It is possible that MacDougall was not related to the investigations of Daniel's threats towards the White House, but that he was involved in investigating potential fraud connected to Daniel, but possible that he also investigated him because of the threats.
