When a user told him that it is not okay to use the slur, Daniel's response was; “True unless it’s because you are really scared for your safety.” Despite this, this statement does not make sense as Daniel has also used the slur in situations where nobody is around and when he describes the way people act. Daniel believes that the N word has "self defense" properties because when he says it the assailant may become confused as to why he said it. This confusion could serve to reduce the immediate tension between Daniel & the assailant. This has led to the community deeming it as his "tactical word".
