Homeless Era: Difference between revisions

The Homeless Era began after Daniel ran away from his caretaker, [[Jonas]] in December 2021.{{Footnote|text=The exact date of this is unclear, but it can be assumed that Daniel ran away around the end of 2021, due to Daniel being definitely homeless during the Headset Arc, which happened during early 2022.}} This event marked the end of the [[Classic Era]], and the true start of why Daniel Larson became the infamous figure many know him as today. Daniel was homeless for approximately a month before moving into another care provider's house in February 2022, before being evicted on April 19th. <ref>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJkgFQK39Is</ref> He was homeless for another four months before he briefly [[Second Housing Arc|received housing]] from the [[Shields Foundation]] in August 2022, before being evicted following [[Miss P|an altercation with his care providers.]]   

The events leading up to the the '''Homeless Era''' were preceded by the [[First Housing Arc|Hype House Arc]], where Daniel lived with a host named [[Jonas]], a housemate named [[Gavin]], and Jonas' wife. The household was in a constant state of chaos, as Gavin (much like Daniel) would have frequent outbursts that caused Daniel to act out in response. Daniel's paranoia during this arc was strong, so much so that Daniel, at one point, believed that he had been [[Poisoned Mac N Cheese|"poisoned" after honey mustard was mixed into his macaroni and cheese]].   

Daniel fought with [[Jonas]] and [[Gavin]] constantly, and at one point, believed Jonas to have been abusing him and hitting him. At one point, he even said that Jonas was "being racist" towards him.<ref>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-sW7gwTRRo</ref> This is extremely ironic, especially given his use of the [[Daniel Larson and Race|n-word]]. It was extremely obvious that Jonas, despite never kicking Daniel out, did not want him in the house, as they would get into frequent altercations due to Daniel refusing to follow the rules, as well as frequently verbally abusing him. This would come to a head sometime around the beginning of 2022, when Daniel ran away from [[Jonas]]' house, ending the [[Classic Era]] and [[First Housing Arc|Hype House Arc]], which started the [[Homeless Era]]. The departure may have also been influenced by [[trolls]] or [[Management|managers]], though this cannot be confirmed. While the day in which Daniel left housing is unknown, much of the community agrees that it most likely occurred on December 13th, 2021.  

Despite running away from housing, Daniel had been able to (albeit, barely) survive being homeless. But even though he was very much alive, being homeless had severe consequences for Daniel's [[Daniel and health|health]].   

Obviously, Daniel did not have much money at this time, mainly reliable on the charity of his fans. So, in order to feed himself, he did so through various, oftentimes illegal means, such as [[Dine and dashes|dine and dashing]], which in some cases has resulted in him getting [[Daniel and the Law|arrested]]. A prime example of this would happen on May 13th, 2022, where Daniel was promptly arrested after dining and dashing at a Hard Rock Cafe.<ref>[[Daniel and the Law#Petty Theft]]</ref>  

An if he had not already been confronted for dining and dashing or general unpleasent behaviour, Daniel would constantly be on his phone (such as when [[Denver Colfax Marathon 2022|he ran an entire marathon, phone in hand]]), loitering and charging his phone at restaurants or other public areas. On occasion, Daniel would resort to trespassing if he couldn't find a receptacle in a public place, often causing [[List of places that have banned Daniel|points of contention with staff]]. An example of this happened on May 13th, 2022, the same day he would be later arrested, where Daniel was seen [[Porch Charging Incident|trying to charge his phone on a man's porch (and when confronted, called him the N-word, no less).]]

Being without a home did not provide ample opportunity for Daniel to bath, obviously. Due to his lack of housing, the amount of running water Daniel has access to is only in limited quantities, as he relied solely on commercial establishments and free drinking water. However, even given this limited quantity of water, Daniel had had access to showers and bathrooms many times, namely when he stayed in motels or places such as Planet Fitness (at least, before he got banned from all of them.) Instead, Daniel chooses to do nothing with the resources given to him.
