The video was most likely generated through AI. In the video, AI "Grace" tells Daniel to leave her and her family alone, and that Daniel had never been in contact with any of the members of the VanderWaal family. u/TMZ_news went on to post screenshots of messages between him and Tina VanderWaal, where Tina claims the video was taken down due to Grace's lawyer advising her to do so. Daniel addressed the video on the community section of his YouTube page. His panicked reactions made it apparent that he did not see through the invalidity of the media posts, and had fallen for the elaborate prank.

On June 21th 2023, the same Reddit user "[[u/TMZ_new]]s"<ref>https://www.reddit.com/r/Daniellarson/comments/14esr38/my_conversation_with_grace/</ref> posted dms of him talking to Grace Vanderwaal herself, wanting to know if She knew about Daniel. Upon her response she actually knew about Daniel, but just like the rest her family she doesn't want anything to do with Daniel. She thought of him to be the worst part of her career as every time she looks herself  up she also sees image of him too. And would calls him a "dirty pedophile" She hates him and wishes that He would stop talking about him, if this doesn't get thought Daniel's head that she would not date him, I don't know what is.
