2024
2024 was the 4th year since Daniel's discovery. It is also the 2nd year of him being homeless (at least until April), the first year of him incarcerated, and ultimately the final year where he was a free man.
The year opened right off the heels of Daniel having a massive meltdown on Christmas Day, where he would threaten to kill Bob, among many others. It otherwise started off normally (or, what counts as normal for Daniel), with Daniel making a shooting threat against a hospital, getting his Colorado ID stolen, having fart spray poured on him by a troll, being arrested four times, and having quite possibly his worst meltdown ever recorded. However, just barely midway through the year, 2024 would go from being business as usual to being an absolutely critical point in Daniel's life.
On April 30th, 2024, Daniel would be arrested for making several terroristic threats against the government. All of these charges could add up to over 65 years in jail if Daniel is found guilty of all of them. This would quickly destabilize Daniel's life, separating him from talking to managers and trolls, distancing him from his delusions of marrying Grace VanderWaal, and cutting him off from any and all exposure to the internet. Daniel continued to have occasional contact via phone, emails and letters to Clark and Lil Sippy, and was transferred to over 10 facilities until being institutionalized at MCFP Springfield, where he is presently incarcerated.

After being followed around by a drone, Daniel kicked off the year by being chased around by trolls who doused him with Mountain Dew, fart spray, and water. He was later arrested at an airport, made a threat of a mass shooting directed at a hospital he had been kicked out of, and began enrolling in fake classes at "UCLA".

Daniel spent almost all of February incarcerated after being arrested on the 3rd for being a fugitive from justice due to missing multiple court dates. He called Clark from jail regularly. Notably, the bodycam footage from the 7/11 Incident was released.
March

Daniel was released from jail after being there for a month. He was denied service at multiple establishments despite offering to pay, moved into a homeless shelter before being kicked out, and was attacked by trolls (including an incident where water was poured on him). However, he missed another court date and was arrested again, being released three days later. He ended the month with a meltdown in which he threatened to bomb FBI headquarters and traveling on foot to Colorado Springs for Easter weekend.
April

April marked a significant turning point in Daniel's life. It began with business as usual but ended with his incarceration on federal charges - a major moment that would last over a year. The month opened with another arrest while he was returning to Denver by bus from his Colorado Springs trip. He was released the following day, and three days later, had the most intense, explosive meltdown ever recorded, during which he made multiple major threats. He was subsequently hospitalized for food poisoning, placed on an M1 hold, kicked out of the Pumphouse for dine-and-dashing, and defrauded a Buffalo Wild Wings of $53. However, events took a more serious turn when a federal warrant was issued for his arrest due to threats made over the past year. He was ultimately arrested on the last day of the month and remains incarcerated.

May marked the beginning of Daniel's journey through the federal legal system. Daniel was arrested on April 30 and was federally indicted on seven counts of uttering threats, and was transferred between detention facilities as his case progressed. He began the month in Jefferson County Detention Facility, was moved to Clear Creek County Jail, and later had his arraignment where he pleaded not guilty to all charges. Early in the month, Daniel called Clark, prompting a serious conversation in which Clark confronted him, revealed everything, and harshly criticized his behavior. No further contact would occur for another four months. On May 31, Daniel was officially transferred to FCI Englewood, marking the start of his incarceration in a federal prison.

This month, Daniel was imprisoned at FCI Englewood after being charged with 7 counts of terroristic threats. This month, he was in the SHU (specialized housing unit) and had no contact to anyone during this time. He was also found incompetent to stand trial.

Daniel was being held at FCI Englewood for his federal charges. This month, he finally got back in contact with Clark on the phone after four months, and revealed that he was in protective custody and awaiting transfer to another facility. Notably, Daniel became more delusional during this time, as he was still speaking of Grace VanderWaal on the phone.

Daniel spent the month making phone calls from jail. He began the month sending a very absurd letter to Lil Sippy, someone who somehow got in contact with Daniel. Throughout the month, he talked to Lil Sippy and Clark, speaking of very delusional ideas, such as being asked by Donald Trump to serve as vice president or Taylor Swift inviting him to perform on her Eras Tour. In the midst of this, Daniel's mother, Elisabeth Shimer, passed away this month at the age of 47.
November

Despite being imprisoned at FCI Englewood, the month was far from uneventful. Daniel continued regular contact with both Lil Sippy and Clark through phone calls and emails. He turned 26 this month, spending his birthday behind bars. Tensions escalated in jail, as Daniel got into a verbal altercation with another inmate while on the phone and was later physically assaulted by his cellmate, resulting in a bloody nose. His mental health appeared to deteriorate further, as he made bizarre claims, including lawsuits against Bob and the U.S. government.
December

Daniel spent the first 10 days of December at FCI Englewood where he continued to email Lil Sippy and have phone calls with Clark. On December 10, he was transferred out of Englewood and spent the following two weeks in a private facility in Oklahoma before being moved again to another short-term holding site. Despite these transfers, he remained in contact with Clark. At the end of the month, Daniel was moved to the federal medical center in Springfield for a comprehensive mental health evaluation. Since arriving there, he has ceased all communication with the outside world, and as of the new year, he remains housed at the facility.
