Dale Emmanuel Wilson, who is otherwise known as LowTierGod and was born on November 12, 1984, is a Twitch streamer who has gained both notice and derision for the explosive and antagonistic personality he displays during his livestreams. Because of this, he has gained a following as a “Lolcow,” around whom assorted trolls come and go to coax explosive reactions from him, and since these reactions are coupled with his own mocking attitude, it is a somewhat common belief that he is playing a character, a belief that deserves some attention here.

It is hard to say for certain whether it is an act, particularly since there are times in which Dale seems to overdramatize his reactions to some degree. Yet given how consistently he has behaved this way, even through periods of relative calm, it seems more reasonable to assume that this is simply how he is, and that the camera only captures what would otherwise go unseen, however much he enjoys pretending that his viewers do not truly know him. It takes more assumptions than necessary to suppose that he is an elaborate actor pursuing some long-term project to attract casting directors, since he has said many regretful things[1][2], and someone who did not truly behave the way he does would hardly ban as many users as he does, given that all this accomplishes is prevent further money from coming his way.

Controversies

Hate Videos

In late 2013, when Boogie’s reputation on the internet was more positive, Dale uploaded a video that mocked Boogie’s weight for no better reason than to seek attention[3], and it was later privated or deleted. Four years later, he uploaded a similar video about a female cosplayer named “Momokun,” in which he made like insults and accused her of editing her images, and he encouraged her fans to stop supporting her[4], although he later admitted that he regretted the video and said that it made little sense to make.[5]

Viscant Feud

The most popular incident in Dale’s history, and arguably his only claim to fame (read: infamy) in internet history, began in 2014 when he and Viscant entered a Twitter beef that led Dale to post further tweets mocking Viscant’s appearance and calling him the worst example of gamers, while Viscant jokingly suggested that Dale change his nickname to “Black DSP.” Three days later, on 10/21/14, Wednesday Night Fights organized a grudge match between LTG and Viscant, in which the first to reach 10 wins would be declared the winner.

As is widely known, Dale would lose this grudge match[6] and lead to the most famous quote which still haunts him to this day: “There’s gonna come a point when you forget about what happens, and you’re gonna want to come back at me, and you’re gonna want to wash the taste of my DICK out of your mouth.”

Punishere Match

In early January 2017, LTG matched up the fighting game streamer Punishere in Street Fighter V and ended up losing over 50 matches in a row without a single win to Punishere’s Chun-Li.[7] After losing 50 matches straight without a single win, Dale proceeded to tell his fans to hate-raid Punishere’s Twitch, which led to him getting permanently banned for a year, until he got it lifted in June 2018.

Personality

Rage

Dale has long maintained that he does not feel emotions[8] and that some unexplained experience of life left him less prone to impulse than other men. He is, in fact, a person of considerable impulsive anger. It is sadder still that the occasions which provoke this anger are, for the most part, exceedingly petty ones. These episodes occur most frequently in fighting games, but any competitive game will see him, at best, shout verbal insults or make dubious claims that the win was undeserved for some reason. At worst, he will fall into a fit of explosive rage in which he does what was mentioned, throwing his controller, demanding a rematch with the opponent, or banning the opponent from his chat or Discord server, or whatever other space he manages. His rage, alongside his ego, also stands among his barriers to winning in competitive games, since anything that makes him wait even a second leads him to focus more on excusing his impending loss than on trying to prevent it.

He has lately made a habit, during his recent streams, of telling anyone who mocks him over the voice chat in Mortal Kombat 1, Injustice 2, or Street Fighter IV Ultra to meet him in person and fight, and the same has happened when someone has taken his photo in public. It is probably in poor taste to do so, and his complaints should not extend beyond a basic respect for his privacy, but he instead likens himself to a celebrity so famous that people photograph him as they would Bigfoot, though this does not bode well for his future career in acting if he cannot handle even a lighter form of the paparazzi.

Lust

Although Dale insists that he is “not weak to the flesh,” there are numerous stretches of his livestreams in which he lusts, fantasizes, or openly discusses his sexual appetites without an ounce of shame. One such example occurs when he listens to a song from Ice Spice’s album and drifts into a daydream over a certain lyric. His frequent and often memed jokes about having sex with people’s mothers are another example of this tendency (though they stem from a different kind of lust) in which he goes into considerable detail about the specific acts that the person in question supposedly performed that night. Dale has also admitted to being one who will do nearly anything for “love” which goes against the tough-guy, “seen it all” attitude that he so often adopts in his recent streams.

Ego

It hardly takes a world-renowned psychologist to see that Dale holds an opinion of himself so high as to border on delusion. Though he has admitted to bouts of depression[9], he considers everything and anything only insofar as it affects himself.[10] Taking the easiest example first, he bans people often and for almost any perceived slight against him and even a comment made in good spirit will offend him when he is in a bad mood, or when he chooses to read it that way. His ego, which is rather fragile, often proves his own worst enemy where success is concerned, for he makes himself plenty of enemies among chat, fellow creators/streamers, and others who would rather not associate with him because of his explosive temper and lack of professionalism, and he does little to hide his contempt for people, who happen to make up most of those out there. Dale often mocks those who make such statements and argues that he should not have to become a “nice guy squeegee” streamer to gain fans, as though that were even remotely the point. Which is that he need only improve himself slightly in patience and continue being his antagonistic self in an entertaining rather than genuinely hateful manner to find the same success he enjoyed in his early days. Yet he has done nothing to improve himself and arguably has grown worse.

Dale seems incapable of imagining that a person might hate someone and still find him entertaining or psychologically fascinating, since he loves calling his detractors gay for “obsessing” over him[11][12][13][14][15]. While this may apply during certain periods[16], there are also times when he calls people trolls or “obsessed weirdos” even though there is no apparent evidence beyond his paranoia and violent temper, and sometimes the claim of trolling only as a way to excuse his loss to someone.

His ego is also the greatest inhibitor to his success in games as well as in life, for like DSP, he will find any reason why his loss was not genuine, and nearly any problem, regardless of his opponent’s culpability, will be laid at someone else’s feet. He will blame lag, an opponent’s choice of character on the grounds that it shows neither taste nor skill, comeback mechanics, taunting, faulty controllers, an unwillingness to defend himself, DDoS attacks, his own choice of character, or your supposed lack of skill despite having beaten him, and the list goes on. Dale will defend his ego by pointing to his popularity and insisting that it alone entitles him to arrogance, never considering (or perhaps never wishing to believe) that his popularity rests on far from good reasons, and that if he somehow believes he has built a loyal fanbase, it has come only through banning so many people that the sycophants alone remained.

Greed

Thanks in part to his $121,000 debt, Dale regards money as the ultimate goal toward which every man should strive[17], and this leads him to make decisions that, if anything, yield less money over time. He challenges detractors to hand him $50,000 up front if they wish to fight him (the winner does not receive that sum), he bans or times out supporters in his chat, and berates viewers who would become supporters were it not for his toxic attitude, on top of alienating nearly anyone who might toss a nickel at his feet. This overlaps somewhat with his ego, since he will boast about having more money than he actually has to save face with what remains of his audience, even though trolls mock his attempts to save only because he so readily pretends that he is secure and not living paycheck to paycheck on the charity of strangers.

Racism

Dale’s racism is probably the most widely cited reason for his trolling, second only to his rage. He has said on stream that he struggled to fit in with other kids from an early age, and that darker skinned people were consistently the ones who disliked him most. Whether or not this was true, he seems to have carried that sense of being wronged onto the internet, where he attributes any hate from other black people to a crab in a barrel mentality.[18] He has called himself a “New Age Black”[19] and rejected accusations of racism (though it might be more accurate to call him bigoted), and he is often especially harsh toward African Americans in particular[20][21][22][23], claiming that they have no culture, no unity, and so on.[24][25][26]

Intelligence

Dale’s intelligence arguably warrants its own section, though it is better understood as another facet of his ego, because, like his lifelong idol DarkSydePhil, he will always pretend to be more intelligent than he is despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, evidence that will likely dwindle further as he bans anyone who so much as points out a single flaw in his thinking. In his early days of streaming, Dale worked at stores such as GNC and Goodwill to make ends meet beyond what his channel provided, and although most of those streams are now gone, it would be a fair guess that this arrangement left him at least somewhat more financially stable than he is at present, since he was less aggressive, less prone to banning people from his chat, and was altogether more likeable both as a person and as a streamer.

He has now put all his eggs into streaming, which is hardly a sound financial decision whatever one believes the top streamers earn, given the aforementioned aggressiveness of Dale as a streamer, and given that the general dullness of his streams means that most who would ever donate would do so only because of his rages and not in spite of them, as he would delude himself into believing. On a lighter note, Dale liked to call himself a scholar by virtue of two college degrees in Business and Health, though he has put neither to much use if they exist at all, and he was always the first to praise himself for speaking clearly and commanding a rich and expansive vocabulary, even as he butchered words such as “exhibition,” “dehumanize,” "eviscerate," and “intoxicate,” among others.

Beliefs

Metaphysics, Science, and Epistemology

During a SFV stream, Dale spoke of founding a religion called “Philosophy Christianized Science,” which he defined, in the most charitable paraphrase, as “Philosophiz(ing) on the beliefs of Christianity in relation to what is explained in the Bible.” The rationale, according to Dale, was that the Bible, once narrowed down to its truest meaning, is a book of science. Dale held that Christianity was simply the nearest approximation of the "truest form of religion", and he did not regard it as the “true” or “correct” form in itself, despite its name in the title. Despite this apparent approval of the Bible, Dale will sometimes correct himself when speaking in biblical or religious contexts, declining to refer to God as a “He” or even, "God," preferring “The Creator,” presumably for its consistency with other monotheistic religions. Dale also does not believe in an afterlife, holding the view common to many atheistic positions that death means nothingness, though he believes in the existence of a soul.

One of Dale’s primary arguments for the existence of a God was the perfection of the human body. This argument can be read as directed against atheism in general rather than for any specific religion. Dale maintains that the internal body of humans, and the synergy among everything within it, is so immaculate that the only rational explanation is that a Creator made it. He admits, however, that we have a lifespan, (which he does not recognize as a contradiction of his perfection theory, though for the sake of charity we can assume the word was used as an exaggeration). He also believes that these imperfections explain why humans did not originate on Earth, since we have not adapted to its difficulties as other animals have. If this sounds anti-evolutionary, that's because it is.

One of Dale’s arguments against evolution, again paraphrased as charitably as possible, holds that humans lack a “goldilocks zone” that would allow them to feel comfortable in the middle of any weather. If it is too hot, we turn on the air conditioner. If it is too cold, we turn on the radiator. Were evolution true, we would have no need for external items such as jackets to help us in one direction or the other. This theory is obviously wrong for a few reasons, first, we do have a goldilocks zone, and second, making items such as jackets is also exactly what our evolutionary strategy amounts to, since it rests on our ability to think laterally. Although this leads us into another facet of Dale's philosophy. He subscribes to the meme argument that humans use only a fraction of their brains[27], and that if we used all of it we would somehow be capable of the miracles found in the most popular superhero films. The obvious counter is that if we did not already use the whole of our brains, it only stands to reason that we would grow steadily dumber over time.

Misanthropy

Among the many discussions Dale has had on the human species, praise of humanity is hard to find[28][29][30][31], and he frequently posits that we are inferior to whatever alien lifeform appears or even to other species of the animal kingdom. His main reasoning seems to be that humans lose 9 times out of 10 in a “pure test of strength,” which appears to be the extent of his evaluation of human value. This overlooks what we devise in order to win fights against other animals, or, put another way and to reiterate what was said earlier, our ability to think laterally, which remains our main advantage. Dale’s only praise of humanity - setting aside his metaphysical claim that we were "given" only the same level of intelligence so that we might build a good civilization - is that we are capable of learning and improving, two things he has never done himself.

Grooming

In 2018, Dale spoke of the grooming allegations that had been floating around Drake and justified them through a rather infamous metaphor, which compared underage women to pennies that become more tarnished as they grow older, so that men like Drake begin to look for untarnished pennies. Taken together, these remarks make up a very disturbing speech, and people have often cited it to point to his attraction towards underage women.[32] He has also made a strange joke about the 12 year old playing M3GAN in the film.[33] Although he later said that the comment was taken out of context.[34]

Miscellaneous

Dale believes that Jesus was an extraterrestrial, as were the builders of the pyramids, and that humans were designed by extraterrestrials, whom he equates with God. He holds that aliens were present only in ancient times and then departed, though he also maintains that aliens run the planet today.[35]

Dale believes that love is a fallacy[36][37] and has a general skepticism towards women in general.[38] He has also encouraged his viewers to worry less about forming intimate bonds with a woman and more on having sex repeatedly to rid themselves of their lust[39]
