Gavin, often nicknamed Hal Stewart or The Other Client, was Daniel's mentally ill housemate in a group home with Jonas. Gavin moved into the house in September 2021 and was featured in many of Daniel's videos during the Hype House Arc. He was best known for having frequent meltdowns, often characterized by high-pitched screams, which Daniel livestreamed and recorded, then posted to TikTok. Daniel regularly attributed broken items and wall damage in the house to Gavin's meltdowns. In TikTok comments, Gavin was sometimes humorously referred to as "Hal Stewart" due to his strong resemblance to the character from Megamind.

Since Daniel ended his housing and disability services with Jonas, Gavin has not reappeared in the Larsonverse. It was revealed that he was kicked out of the house a week after Daniel's departure. Gavin was a key figure in the Hype House Saga.

First appearances of Gavin

The earliest appearance of Gavin was in a video Daniel posted on September 16, 2021, where he "roasted" Gavin, only for him to be confused. This appears to be the date he moved into the house. He quickly gained the nickname "Hal Stewart" in the comments and was otherwise known as the "other client".

On September 27, 2021, Daniel recorded Gavin having a meltdown in his room and posted it to Instagram.

On September 29, 2021, Daniel made several strange videos with Gavin and uploaded them to TikTok.

Boyfriend

There was an encounter in September 2021, where Daniel discussed whether he wanted Gavin to be his boyfriend. In the short video, Gavin agreed to be Daniel's boyfriend.

Run

Gavin's meltdowns became increasingly frequent toward the end of the Hype House Arc, often happening daily during the last two weeks of November.

There is a video from November 23, 2021, in which Daniel is clearly distressed when Gavin begins to scream at and threaten him. When he walks past, Daniel runs upstairs in fear, locks himself in his room, starts crying, and kicks a hole in the wall multiple times.

Tennis Shoes & Name Reveal

On November 24, 2021, the other client's name was revealed to be Gavin.

During the same stream, Gavin has a meltdown over the tennis shoes he received, saying that he wants dress shoes instead and arguing that modern fashion is overrated. He makes a strange claim: if he wore the tennis shoes, he would look like "Chris Griffin, who is fat, and masturbates in the woods".

Virgin Discussion

In one of the more humorous videos, hours after the Tennis Shoes meltdown, Gavin appeared on Daniel's stream while he was enjoying a few slices of pizza. Daniel casually mentioned that he wanted to have sex with Rihanna, which sparked a discussion with Gavin, who repeatedly stated that he was a virgin. Daniel also suggested Gavin should train with Dwayne Johnson to get in shape. Gavin responded, saying he wanted to get in shape to have sex and become a "real man." Daniel ships Gavin with Charli D'Amelio, whom Gavin calls "Chopadilio".

November 26

On or around November 26, 2021, Daniel posted a video on @daniellarsonlive where Gavin can be heard screaming in the background. Throughout the video, Daniel's phone vibrates repeatedly with incoming calls.

Touching Incident/Stand Down

On November 26, 2021, Daniel got into a verbal altercation with Gavin. Daniel recorded the encounter with Gavin as he attempted to touch him, while Daniel yelled at him to get away. Gavin ultimately cornered Daniel in the living room before finally leaving. Daniel then argued with Miranda about being woken up at 7:00 AM. During the argument, Gavin intervened, telling Daniel to "stand down." Daniel immediately kicked a hole in the kitchen wall before following Miranda up the stairs and continuing to yell at her. The aftermath of the situation involved Daniel lying about the incident, and Jonas allegedly calling the police on him.

Like I'm just trying to right now to just stay away. Gavin: I'm bigger than him. Daniel: I'm trying to stay as far away as possible. Gavin: I should be handling him. Broken Phone

On November 27, 2021, Daniel had just returned home while Gavin is having a meltdown over his phone malfunctioning. Within the first 20 seconds of the video, Gavin becomes frustrated and slams his phone down, shattering the screen and breaking it. Once he realizes his phone is broken, he starts screaming and trying to get it to work again, all while Daniel is in his room, complaining about the nature of the house and how frequent Gavin gets upset. Gavin constantly goes between being upset over his broken phone, not being able to call his mother, to trying to take the SIM card out and put it in another. Later, Daniel comes downstairs after Gavin calms down a bit. Miranda asks Daniel to go upstairs for his safety and stop recording. Near the end of the second video, Daniel gets upset and hits a wall.

November 29

During one of Daniel's last streams before he fled his housing service, Gavin had the cops called on him by Jonas after he allegedly slapped him. During this altercation, Gavin had a meltdown, and loud noises could be heard in the background, likely from him damaging walls and breaking items, having already broken his phone about two days before. In the midst of his rage, Gavin demanded that Jonas call his mother. At one point, Gavin yelled out his mother's phone number, which was clearly audible on Daniel's live stream, which had around 7,000 viewers at the time. Gavin was spooked by the cops arriving at the house.

Aftermath

Gavin was not seen again after Daniel left Jonas' home. It was revealed that a week after Daniel fled the Hype House, Gavin was evicted from the house. However, in October 2023, Daniel believed that Gavin was one of the r/Daniellarson mods. He was also told that Gavin had snuck in a phone, and that Gavin's mother was threatening DDRC to sue Daniel.
