Hot Phone Incident

“ You are a fucking bitch, Grace! You are a fucking liar and you should go to fucking hell! You don't know how hot my phone is! ” — Daniel after he finally loses his cool

The Hot Phone Incident was one of the final incidents that occurred during the Hype House Arc, taking place November 29, 2021. Daniel went live on TikTok expressing his frustration about his phone overheating and the temperature, which ultimately escalated in a meltdown toward the end of the stream.

Background

Daniel started a livestream on TikTok and talked about various things, such as Grace supposedly helping him out and delusions about her being "pregnant". During the stream, his number was leaked and he receives many spam calls and around 4 minutes in, he begins to complain that his phone is overheating and worries about waking Gavin up. As more spam calls come in, Daniel becomes increasingly angry to the point where he hits himself, smashes a lamp and repeats that he has "fucking had it" and that he is being harassed. A minute later, he has a meltdown, calling Grace a bitch.

Details

As noted above, Daniel's phone number had been leaked to the public. Due to his online infamy, people quickly capitalized on this opportunity to troll him, spamming his phone with texts and calls.

Due to reasons we cannot understand, Daniel was unable to to comprehend that he could put his phone on silent mode or mute notifications. This resulted in his phone staring to overheat as notification after notification popped up, resulting in him starting to get irritated.

As noted in other parts of the wiki, Daniel is autistic, and as such has sensitivity issues to certain feelings and sensations. One of them, in this instance, is heat. Daniel, likely feeling overstimulated and angry, broke his lamp as well.

Daniel: Like I was telling you, Grace is trying to save me, OK? Grace is trying to help, OK? That's- that's the truth, OK? She's trying to help, so everything that I'm saying is myself, OK? Part of it, to be honest, is that I'm a really good actor and I use the social media as my acting platform. I use that for my marketing, so what you guys should be saying is "Wow, Daniel can do this, wow, Daniel can do that. Wow, we could use that, you know, for a movie or something like that."  That's what you guys should be looking into. Daniel's Phone: *vibrates* Incoming voice call from +1 (3- Daniel: *drops call*  And I will be keeping track of that number and leaking it here soon, because we don't mess around. If you guys are gonna call me, then I will call you. Well, I won't call you, I'll just leak your number to every single one of my followers. I won't be the one leaking, that's for sure. *scoffs, presses his phone* Fuck you bitch. She really wants to see what I'm capable, right? So, what I can say and what I will say is… of course she's pushing me to my limits to see what I can handle, OK? And that's fine, OK? That's- there's nothing wrong with that, OK? That person's about to go to hell if they continue, but hold on. Oh Lord, hold on here. [stream pauses and resumes] Daniel: So, as you guys know, um, Grace is pregnant, so that is true. Um, but I will give you more- I'll give you more updates on that in January, OK? But yes, Grace is pregnant with our baby so that is true. Um, and I don't wanna give too much information, but yes, that IS true. So, um, this is the last thing I'm gonna do before I'm gonna actually turn off my phone for the night, um, so my phone doesn't keep overheating and I can actually um, you know, get some other things under control, so we could slow down, you know, the people that are being jerks, OK? Um, I'm gonna do one last thing. [Daniel does deep, tiger-like growls for 30 seconds while pressing his phone, does a thinking expression] Daniel: Hold on, I think I hear the other client. But I might've woke up the other client. *angry tongue, hits himself once* My phone is getting worse and it's getting really, really over- like, it's hot. My phone is hot, and I'm currently being asked to do more, and I'm getting spammed like crazy currently. This is insane, as my phone is so hot right now that it's like- it's- Daniel's Phone: *vibrating* Incoming voice call from +1 (95- Daniel: It's hard to actually like, touch the screen, the screen itself is hot. Daniel's Phone: *vibrating* Incoming voice call from +1 (7- Daniel: *becomes more agitated, angry tongue* You guys can go fuck yourselves! Hold on… *a donation comes in* Oh thank you! If you guys can send me um, Gold Mines that would be great. This is fucking insane. I'm now being harassed. This is insane. I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die here very soon. I just know it. I absolutely know it. Daniel's Phone: *vibrating* Incoming voice call from +1- Daniel: *angry tongue, kicks his wall* I'm about ready- you know what? I'm breaking up with everyone. This is insane, I'm gonna- I'm gonna get off the media now. This is fucking bad. *Daniel's phone vibrates again* Daniel: I really don't think I wanna continue. I really don't think, like, if every single night is gonna end up with me so pissed and so angry at people.. *sees comment about Jonas rapping* He doesn't even fucking rap! End of fucking story! He's never rapped in his goddamn motherfucking life! My life is being fucking ruined and I don't fucking appreciate it! [video cuts] Daniel: This is insane! *angry tongue, hits his head a couple times* This is really insane. I've had it! I've fucking had it! I've fucking had it! I've fucking had it! I've fucking had it and I'm about to expose this person if this continues, because I'm fucking furious. *Daniel, now in a meltdown, his phone rings again, full number given out. He does an angry tongue, hits himself a few times, bangs his head into the wall* This is what people are doing to me! This is literally what people are doing to me! They push me so fucking overboard! I literally can't take it! I am now being spammed like crazy, this is insane! This is fucking insane! *Daniel's phone rings again. Angry tongue, breaks a lamp* I'm about ready to break up with her! End of story! At this point, I don't care! If I'm gonna be treated like this, why do I even bother? [Daniel picks up pieces of the lamp he just knocked over. He stares at the chat for another ten seconds, and then completely loses it. He starts whimpering, angry tongue, heavy breathing, slams a wall, drops his phone as his phone rings again, picks up his phone, crying] Daniel: You are a fucking bitch, Grace! You are a fucking liar! You are a fucking liar and you should go to fucking hell! You don't- you're not here, you don't know how hot my phone is so stop lying! *sobbing* I'm just tired, I'm done… my phone is blowing up!! Daniel: *stopped crying* I am now getting so many messages I can't see the fucking screen! And I'm still being called a fucking liar! Fuck you! Fuck you spammer! I'm gonna have to get off the media before I make another fucking hole in the wall [ends stream]

Delusions of VanderWaaline involvement

Near the end of most clips of the meltdown, Daniel is shown angrily telling Grace VanderWaal — whom he has a near-pedophilic obsession with — that she is "a fucking liar" and "should go to fucking hell". Later on, it is presumed he put his phone down due to the up-appearing angle of the video; as this happens, he is heard remarking that "you don't know" and that "you're not here", then saying "you don't know how hot my phone is".

This tells us that, somewhere in the back of his mind, he figures that Grace had organized the incident in some way, or at the very least had been sufficiently rude to him as to deserve an angry diatribe.
