Dale Emanuel Wilson, who is otherwise known as LowTierGod and was born on November 12, 1984, is a Twitch streamer who has gained both notice and derision for the explosive and antagonistic personality he displays during his livestreams. Because of this, he has gained a following as a “Lolcow,” around whom assorted trolls come and go to coax explosive reactions from him, and since these reactions are coupled with his own mocking attitude, it is a somewhat common belief that he is playing a character, a belief that deserves some attention here.
(See: Acting) It is hard to say for certain whether it is an act, particularly since there are times in which Dale seems to overdramatize his reactions to some degree. Yet given how consistently he has behaved this way, even through periods of relative calm, it seems more reasonable to assume that this is simply how he is, and that the camera only captures what would otherwise go unseen, however much he enjoys pretending that his viewers do not truly know him. It takes more assumptions than necessary to suppose that he is an elaborate actor pursuing some long-term project to attract casting directors, since he has said many regretful things[1][2], and someone who did not truly behave the way he does would hardly ban as many users as he does, given that all this accomplishes is prevent further money from coming his way.
Another reason this can’t be an elaborate ruse for attention is that attention needs a discussion to feed on in the first place, and Dale spends every waking minute trying to shut down any conversation about him that isn’t glowing, or even hints at something slightly dubious, because all he wants is unbridled praise for his skill in fighting games and for his so-called stoicism.
Name & Age
Dale’s online pseudonym, “LowTierGod,” came from his belief that he was a “God” at playing low-tier characters in fighting games.[3][4] For those unfamiliar with the term, a “low-tier” character is one whose attributes, such as health or damage, fall below those of the rest of the cast, or whose frame data, meaning the timing of attacks and the advantage a player holds after executing one, is generally less favorable than that of the other characters. On a different note, he has chosen to call himself “Dalauan Sparrow” in place of his government name (Dale Wilson), though his reasons for doing so are not entirely clear. He has likened it to a Hollywood stage name, saying that it would be rude to walk up to Will Smith and call him “Willard Smith,” even though actors generally prefer such names for convenience more than for privacy. If we are to give any reason for his preference, it most likely is because of his sense that the old name belongs to an inferior earlier version of himself, and that he wanted to rebrand his life by beginning again under a new one.[5][6][7] In a 2020 Instagram Live session, Dale’s ex-girlfriend, Alaina, confirmed that Dale was the same age as her current boyfriend, KT[8], who has publicly shown his birth year to be 1984, and trolls took this to mean that Dale is 41 at the time of this writing.
