Policy
NPOV
You do not necessarily need to write from a neutral point of view when it comes to writing about Cyraxx (although it is encouraged) as Cyraxx is beyond a shadow of a doubt a pedophile who has talked to multiple kids and assaulted his own grandmother, which are among the many, many other awful things he has done.
This doesn't mean you can lie about Cyraxx (you don't need to, he's provably done plenty of abysmal things), it just means that mocking Cyraxx is acceptable as long as it does not come at the expense of information, although try to limit how much you do that as this is more than just a website meant to rag on Cyraxx - this is a wiki, and is meant to be a useful resource that documents Cyraxx.
However, when discussing people other than Cyraxx, you should be neutral and objective. If you have evidence to support your claims, feel free to tactfully and constructively criticize someone. Defaming, disparaging, or bullying someone for no reason is not acceptable.
Article Creation
Before you make an article, ask yourself these questions.
- Does this page already exist?
- Is there enough content for a new article?
- Everything that Cyraxx does doesn't necessarily need its own article. Generally, if there is not enough content to make an introduction and one section for an article covering it, you should not make a page for it unless it completely does not fit in another article.
- Could content that I am thinking of making a new page for be comprehensively covered in an already existing article?
- Generally, we are trying to make the least amount of articles possible when making this wiki, and try to keep information in one big article rather than splitting it up into several different articles as this can be harder to read and give a much less comprehensive view to the reader, so try to minimize redundance and simply merge the content into another already existing article. As an example, we would not make an individual page for each one of Cyraxx's many diseases, and instead just cover it in Health and Appearance.
- Is this relevant enough to warrant its own article?
- The goal of this wiki is to document Cyraxx, and so making multiple articles about anything other than what directly involves Cyraxx is very heavily discouraged. For example, even though MusicBizMarty and William Gloryhole are very influential trolls, events between the two do not warrant their own articles or even anything beyond brief mentions on their pages if it doesn't directly involve Cyraxx.
Quality
Our wiki's quality is the main factor behind the credibility and usefulness of our wiki. Articles that meets our set of editorial standards will be designated as "good articles," and we implore you to read good articles to see what kind of writing we want from our editors. Good articles are well-written, contain factually accurate and verifiable information, are fully comprehensive, meet our NPOV standards, and use relevant images.
Consistency
There's a lot of small ways that this wiki is uniquely written, different from (or sometimes the same as) other wikis. While the best way to learn how this wiki is generally by reading this wiki, there's a few easy steps you can take:
- When a section covers a topic that already has an article, type:
- See "Page"
- Example: See Editor's Guide
- Do I use "Chance" or "Cyraxx"?
- It's perfectly acceptable use Chance, Cyraxx, Raxx, the Goblin, or any other term interchangeably as long as it's clearly referring to him and tonally makes sense.
- As an example, using his original name "Patrick" or his nickname "Chase" would be confusing as not everyone is aware of that name.
- An another example, if you are talking about Cyraxx before he started using the internet, using the name "Chance" would make more sense tonally (although this is just a nitpick)
Sourcing & Citations
Unfortunately, Cyraxx's online history is not as well documented or archived as other Lolcows, so finding sources for claims may be difficult - but please, try to provide proper citations for all claims. Unlike Wikipedia, primary sources are the main type of sources we want on this wiki. Inline citations should be used where appropriate.
Link Decay
Link decay refers to when hyperlinks on the internet become inaccessible over time. This can happen for various reasons, including content being deleted, moved, or blocked by social media platforms. Link decay is especially challenging for archiving sensitive topics like lolcows.
Editors can take steps to preserve important information:
- Using services like Archive.org or archive.today to create backups of web pages, although they sometimes having archiving pages or websites correctly such as Youtube. It's best to upload the video directly
- Using decentralized platforms like Odysee, Bitchute & Rumble. These platforms distribute content across multiple nodes, making it harder to remove entirely.
