In 2009 (Possibly 2010), Daniel was relocated to Colorado at the age of 11 by his mother following her separation from his father, who, according to his mother, viewed Daniel as a 'lost cause',<ref>https://www.reddit.com/r/Daniellarson/comments/139sc49/comment/jj419qs/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3</ref> and the decision to move was influenced by Colorado's reputedly better mental and physical health support opposed to Californias.<ref name=":3">[[:File:Elisabeth Comment 1.png|File:Elisabeth Comment 1.png]]</ref> This move was driven by Daniel's severe mental health problems, as well as Elisabeth being wheelchair-bound.  As confirmed by claims from his mom,<ref name=":3" /><ref name=":4">[[:File:Elisabeth Final Comment.png|File:Elisabeth Final Comment.png]]</ref> Daniel, even from a young age, displayed severe signs of disabilities such as autism, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. This may be because his mother (and possibly, his father), [[Elisabeth Shimer|Elisabeth]], was mentally challenged to some extent, although it is unclear what condition she suffers from.{{Quote|I'm Danny's mom and yes we have moved here for the services. Daniel's childhood was wrought with tenuous claims of neglect and ''alleged'' [[Pedophilia#Daniel's Sexual Deviance and Possible Sexual Trauma|sexual abuse]] which, if true, may have left him with childhood trauma which exacerbated his already chaotic behavior, and may have contributed to his later [[Pedophilia|pedophilic tendencies]]. A worker who has claimed ''but is unconfirmed'' to have helped him during childhood went on to say Daniel had a "history of child sexual abuse (to him and by him)"<ref>[[:File:Daniel Sexual Abuse claims.png|File:Daniel Sexual Abuse claims.png]]</ref> although what this means is unknown.  

Daniel would “graduate” from Sobesky Academy at the age of 19 in 2017. Sobesky Academy is a school which specializes in aiding children who have severe emotional issues. Daniel's age at the time of graduation was a bit higher when compared to his peers, and there are questions surrounding the validity of his high school diploma. The fact that he's around 19 at the point his graduation photo was taken but looks ~14 really shows how likely it is that he might have been born with fetal alcohol syndrome as it's known to cause slower childhood development.{{Citation Needed}}<gallery>
