Writing
Writing is currently under construction! This article will be unpolished, and/or missing information. |
Chance loves to fancy himself a great many things, a musical artist, game developer, a motivational speaker, vocalist, etc. But this article will specifically tackle his "Writing" skills, or the lack thereof.
The main issue with Chance's writing style is his flawed grammar and nonexistent punctuation, he randomly capitalizes certain letters, and barely if ever adds any commas, or other typographic marks used to make the reading experience more enjoyable. The most relevant example is the back of his "Soul Cencus" book that he claimed to have written:
"My name is Chance Wilkins i am 22 Years Old.
I was Born September 20th 1990 in Anchoage Alaska
i Started Writing When i was a Sophmore in Highschool
i also Began Doing Music in 2009 for a Short Time i Left the Music World To Write
Because i found in writing i Can Show
People what i want them to see and let them Picture my Vision in their minds"
Ignoring the fact that he misspelled "Anchorage" and "Sophomore", You can spot how frequently (and randomly) he capitalizes certain words, and only a single period throughout the entire piece. Which makes it feel jumbled and hard to follow because for example, right after stating the year he started doing music, he immediately says that he left the music world to write. With zero commas or punctuation marks to make reading it more comprehensible or natural.
These aforementioned flaws permeate anything that spawns as a result of Chance lack of literary skills. This, coupled with his overall lack of intelligence, makes it so reading anything that he writes a disorienting nightmare.
Novels
Around January 16 of 2021, Chance announced that he had self-published a novel by the name of "Soul Census" - Claiming that he made it for friends and family. [1]
There were several reasons for people to get suspicious about this announcement:
- The aforementioned lack of quality with the back of the novel's cover is jarringly different from the contents of the book itself.
- He didn't know about the amount of pages when asked about it and instead threw a rough estimate between 100-200 pages.
- A single google search about the novel's title shows the actual book that was misspelled (and featured the exact same inside as Chance's book)
- Several chat members during his announcement were asking pertinent questions relating to the book's content, but all were ignored by Chance. (Even going so far as to list every game he owns just to change the topic of discussion)
Sooner or later, Marty began to accuse Chance of stealing AJ Vega's book[2], an accusation that wasn't far-fetched in the slightest and had more believers than skeptics.
Chance would answer these accusations with a few questionable statements, that being it was AJ Vega (Soul Census' original author) that stole the book from him, and that Chance is letting him get away with stealing his book[3], his reasoning being that AJ was an old 'enemy' of his from high school[4], and soon he began to threaten to terminate his own channel if the chat members "didn't pay him some respect" and continue to talk about the book.[5] He also used the opportunity to advertise his upcoming car-photography book as well[6], in case it wasn't already obvious that he stole the book and just wanted to thrive off the attention.
Chance would later admit to Tangerine Cat that he had plagiarized the book from AJ Vega. And would avoid the question as to why he would lie about writing it in the first place for many years and still counting.
Kisaragi Station
Chance would talk about this book during the same announcement video as his "Soul Cencus" novel. He admitted to working on the book for months[7] Which was never physically published, and was simply stolen from a creepypasta by the same name.[8]
Social Media
Chance's illiteracy doesn't just extend to his stolen literature, but also his social media presence as well.
YouTube / Facebook Live
Chance's video titles are frequently misspelled and feature the same linguistic errors as before. These titles include but not limited to:
"Calling out a Fake wonna BE Racer From Akron Ohio" [9]
"WHy i need a Paying Label but Cannot be signed" [10]
"noone OWns Me"[11]
"MARTY AND HIS FRIENDS ARE FAILURS"[12]
It would be redundant to point out all the mistakes that are in his titles, since a good 97% of them feature some sort of error, grammatical or otherwise. There's also evidence to believe that Chance either copies some of his statements from other sources or uses AI to generate them.
