Immaturity

It does not require a world-renowned psychologist to observe that Cyraxx’s behavior exhibits a level of immaturity that sometimes falls below that of early teenagers. He is unable to handle situations with the emotional or mental grace typically associated with adulthood.

The Cambridge Dictionary defines immaturity as “behavior that is not as calm and wise as people expect from someone of your age, or the state of being not yet completely grown or developed.” Both descriptions are apt in Cyraxx’s case, and so we shall adhere to them.

Please keep in mind that this article is not an exercise in armchair psychology; all observations should be taken with a grain of salt.

Origins

Despite Cyraxx frequently telling Marty that he was “born with a silver spoon in his mouth,” this is often merely another projection on his part. While Sally frequently scolds him for his misdeeds, it appears she never properly reprimanded him or explained why and how such actions were wrong. This has resulted in an almost animal-like moral compass, devoid of shame and focused solely on consequences.

His adulterous behavior with several online girlfriends stands as the quintessential example. When Marty exposes these abhorrent actions to the public, Cyraxx is quick to deflect, blame, or deny, but never to accept responsibility or learn from his mistakes. Put simply, if he believes he can get away with an immoral action, he will commit it.

Manifestations

Impulsivity

see also Rage.

Acting suddenly on instinct or emotion, without planning or consideration of consequences, is the quintessential way Cyraxx navigates his day-to-day life. This impulsivity manifests in many ways, most notably in his rage.

Part of Cyraxx’s notoriety stems from his intense mood swings and profound inability to regulate his emotions. Much like a child’s, his feelings arrive with sudden force and speed. Unlike most adults, who pause to reflect before acting, Cyraxx cannot think ahead of his decisions, which invariably arise on a whim. Coupled with his logorrhea, interacting with him becomes headache-inducing, as you are always one slight - perceived or imagined - away from becoming his enemy.

Another facet of this impulsivity is a complete lack of short- or long-term planning. Despite previous assertions that Cyraxx’s mind is wired to the present, he still has not developed a solid grasp of planning even simple outings. One of the more recent examples is the Mall Incident, or perhaps more accurately, The Kansas Incident, in which Cyraxx intended to “walk” to Kansas without transportation or money, only to immediately turn violent when told no to an obviously foolish plan.

Entitlement

As a child, you are reasonably entitled to necessities like food, shelter, and an education, as you cannot provide them for yourself. However, as most people get older, they gradually realize that they must earn what they receive in order to reap any benefits. Because Sally has coddled Cyraxx his entire life, any sense of responsibility was thrown out the window, giving rise to an egocentric mindset that now forms the center around which all of his personality revolves. When Cassandra’s racing rig gift unexpectedly contained a killstick, Cyraxx made a vague attempt to comfort her while she feigned being upset, remarking, “We’ll just have to worry about getting me a new one.”

Egocentricity

see also Ego.

Children naturally see the world as revolving around them. While this is neither evil nor mean-spirited, most outgrow it, learning to respect and consider other people’s needs and perspectives. Cyraxx is evidently incapable of doing so. He frequently spends late nights screaming at a troll or into a microphone, entirely indifferent to his family’s attempts to sleep. Another aspect of this self-absorption is that even during casual conversation, where a natural back-and-forth is expected, Cyraxx rarely listens. Instead, he merely waits for his turn to speak, offering superficial agreement before continuing as usual. He tunes out what is said, perpetually eager to return to the center of attention.

Pettiness

While none of us are perfect and can be prone to pettiness at times, Cyraxx’s pettiness is not only extreme, it is constantly on full display. He frequently talks over people during arguments, resorts to name-calling, and spreads malicious gossip, such as falsely claiming that Marty killed Jamie, among other things.

Melodrama

Cyraxx frequently exaggerates the events in his life, inflating their significance far beyond reality. Behaving like a stereotypical moody teenager, he treats any misfortune as a life-or-death crisis, whether it be the Mall Incident or lamenting his loss to Marty. He frames every setback as a dramatic twist in his never-ending personal narrative.

Miscellaneous

Values, Tastes, and Priorities

Overly competitive

Cyraxx is excessively competitive over trivial matters, particularly during the era when he and Marty vied for the title of “The Drift King” in games like Forza Horizon 5, F1, and Fortnite. Despite being generally unskilled at video games, he places immense importance on a silly nickname, a notion Marty partially entertained simply because it irritated Cyraxx to see his arch-nemesis winning. Any typical, mature adult would recognize this as juvenile behavior and dismiss it.

Look at the absurd amount of kid stickers.

Aggressive

His eagerness to issue threats at the drop of a hat, whether physical or otherwise, serves as another pathetic display of an authority he simply does not possess. This includes threatening to knock Marty’s teeth down his throat, only to later feign ignorance when Marty arrived at their agreed-upon time.

Glorifying Criminal Behavior and Lifestyles

When confronting trolls about their misdeeds, Cyraxx frequently argues that their actions will inevitably come back to bite them - especially when the target is far more dangerous than he is. He often cites his brief stint in county jail as proof of his toughness, dramatizing the experience as though he had been thrown into Alcatraz with the key thrown away, despite Sally bailing him out on his very first day. He similarly glorifies criminal lifestyles, throwing death threats with gleeful abandon and boasting afterward that he is “not afraid to go to jail!” or that “the devil is my friend!” - claims so hollow they would not intimidate a five-year-old.

No Future

Always eager to “chill out and have fun,” Cyraxx’s actual life goals amount to virtually nothing. Much like any chronically lazy individual, he may become passionately fixated on an end goal, yet consistently refuses to put in the necessary effort to achieve it. While most adults need not meticulously plan every aspect of their lives, the vast majority still maintain some objective they are actively working toward.

Materialistic

He frequently flaunts a poorly crafted, spray-painted gold medallion and a makeshift crown while proclaiming himself the “Drift King,” as though mere possession of these trinkets somehow elevates his character.

'Hobbies'

While pursuits such as gaming or anime are sometimes dismissed as immature, they need not be, provided they are engaged in moderation. Because Cyraxx has nothing to his name and refuses to work, he fills his days with these pastimes, allowing them to consume his lifestyle rather than serve as mere recreation.
